Research Forum Workshop
Date: 2 September 2010
Location: Ballymore Rugby Club, Herston
The Research Forum held at Ballymore in September was a great success with over 50 people attending. There was plenty of time for networking and this was embraced by the ED representatives and the University experts. Feedback from the day has been very positive and the Foundation hopes to formulate another event for 2011. Lively debate followed the presentation from Dr Tony O’Connell, CEO Centre for Healthcare Improvement, Queensland Health. Dr O’Connell laid down the challenge to researchers to drive their research into practice.
Key points to do this included:
- Identify and engage stakeholders
- Drive/seek alignment
- Contract with stakeholders in ways which satisfy their drivers
- Communicate: vision, progress, impacts, outcomes
The forum provided an opportunity for attendees to meet the three Health Economists who have been contracted to provide advice to QEMRF grant applicants.
