Our Research Manager Carla has recently returned from a trip to Dublin where she attended the highly successful International Conference on Emergency Medicine.

Spanning four days, the conference featured eight parallel informative sessions daily, with content ranging from clinical management to health care policy, disaster management to the Emergency Department’s of the future.

Despite the location, Australia was well represented throughout with thirty six speakers and forty seven posters stemming from national researchers and medical professionals; ensuring that we provided a significant footprint at this international level.

Also special congratulations to Ed Oakley- who sits on our Scientific Advisory Council- who was presented with the Post Original Research Award for his presentation on his ‘Randomised Trial Comparing Intravenous and Nasogastric Hydration in Infants with Bronchiolitis’ research.

Attending this event really reiterated how we are so lucky to have funding for Emergency Medicine research and fellowships in Queensland; QEMRF really is only one of a kind.

Pictures of the event can be found here and for further information on the conference please visit the ICEM website.
